IRVINE BARCLAY THEATRE

For the 2022 Irvine Barclay Theatre Season, I was consulted to expand the brand’s identity and bring it into a more a contemporary look and feel. The aim was to draw in a larger audience and create more visual awareness throughout the county and beyond. New design features included an expanded color palette, new headline, body copy and web safe fonts, along with a clean geometric design direction for all campaign assets.

CAMPAIGN FONTS

While creating new assets for the Barclay, all seasonal design should consider a geometric gridded layout. Here we are leveraging simple shapes that can be used broadly to create different patterns and backgrounds for a variety of assets. Shapes can be scaled up or down, and used to create holding shapes for copy or photography. Below is a sample grid showing how to break up a layout into different shapes.
